Connie and I head into the backcountry by boat to seek the Eulachon, hooligan or candle fish. This is a fish species that has been traditionally sought after through the years as a subsistence food source. The fish is rich in oil which was also traditionally used for various uses. The hooligan is non commercially harvested here in Alaska mostly by a method known as dip netting. Come see how the trip turn out.
