What do we think is the best winter road trip in Alaska? Whether you are on an Alaska winter vacation or live in Alaska and are looking for things to do in winter, we think it is Hatcher Pass and Independence Mine. One of the many great things about this destination is that you can do it as a day trip from Anchorage or book an overnight stay in a dry cabin at the lodge.

In this video, we leave our off grid cabin for a couple of days, to stay at one of our favorite places: Hatcher Pass! This incredibly beautiful place high in the Talkeetna Mountains is a recreational paradise. See why we think this should be on everyone's must visit places!
